Overview
This module explores student-led innovation approaches in 3D worlds for either virtual or real products. Some suggested project themes will be offered as a guide, but you are expected to research and develop a project that engages in innovation. Emphasis is place on your ability to be inventive and in the clear communication of those ideas.

Project Suggestions
Professional set briefs
The RSA Design Briefs are launched annually and are set by industry and educational professionals. There is a broad range of briefs from which you can choose one of the following for this module.
Brief 1: Think Again- design for mental health, recovery and well being
Brief 2: Including you – Designing for people living with long term health conditions
Brief 3: Sandals – Globally inclusive design for an Indian village
Brief 4: Sustainable packaging- Designing out waste to minimize environmental impact
Brief 5: Domestic Greenclean – innovative ways to manage domestic waste
Brief 6: Design for patient safety – Safer medical equipment: re-thinking visual language on medical products
Brief 7: The 6th L'argus European Design Competition- Design for traffic flow
Brief 8: Dare to be Digital- The Games project may become part of a collaboration of effort between students in design, Music and Computing and Intelligent Systems towards the Dare to be digital competition which will be launched next semester. Chosen projects may have the opportunity to develop their proposals through the major project in Semester 2 if entering the Dare to be Digital competition.

There are facilities on the Magee campus to allow you to scan objects into the virtual environment. This software provides the capbility to control polygon accounts for file optimisation..
